With 2023 coming to a close very soon we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the last 12 months, and take some time to appreciate all of the wonderful things that have happened. When looking back I am amazed at how much is squeezed into a 12 month period. Here are some of our highlights!
Projects
We worked on a variety of projects this year but the standout ones are:
💻📱My Healix: We worked in collaboration with Healix to improve the UX/UI of their Member Zone web application and designed a new mobile app to complement it. You can read our full case study on the project.
📱Wildling: Your ultimate outdoor companion! For this project we designed and developed an app that is a convenient and accessible tool for anyone looking to explore the great outdoors. Currently it is only available for iPhone users, who can download it from the App Store.
💭💡WorkTripp: The go to place for planning team offsite, building connections and organising activities that fosters internal collaboration and optimisation. This year, we were delighted to work with WorkTripp on their marketplace website to improve customer enquiries and recommendations, ensuring that customers got a seamless experience when booking a venue.
In other work news….
2022 gave us the opportunity to work with health insurance organisation WPA on the design of their customer app, and in June 2023 they were honoured with the Outstanding Use of Technology award at the Cover Customer Care Awards. Congratulations to WPA! 🏆

Our people and culture
Kicking off the year strong is Gavin - he co-created (and now co-hosts) a podcast series🎙️ called Self Service Generation with Steve Tomkinson from Disruption Works Ltd. It’s all about technology's role in the customer experience! You can access all the episodes on their YouTube channel.
He also gave a talk at City Conversations here in Plymouth surrounding AI and how he feels this technology should be viewed with opportunity, rather than dread.
Becky added her name to the TEC women CIC Women in Tech Southwest project to support gender equality at tech events! 👯
In 2022, I (Aimee) decided to enrol in an HR course. Fast forward to July 2023 I passed the course to achieve my Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice! 👩🏼🎓
Helen joined as our new UX/UI Designer and relocatd from London to Plymouth to join the team! She helped tip us to a female dominant agency 👏 and she can only be described as an absolute superstar with the quality of work she is producing 🌟
Ed was also recognised and invited to join The Company of Entrepreneurs. Way to go Ed, and very well deserved!
And we have our very own in-house Simon Cowell! Paul was a judge 👨🏻⚖️ at the Tech South West Awards, a role he took very seriously and with great honour.
Each quarter sees us enjoy an outing as a team. This year we were lucky enough to take part in the following endeavours:
🎯 Shooting each other with lasers!
🛞 Lunch at RWY before hopping on the ferry so we could off road segway at Mount Edgcumbe.
🏹 Slayed dinosaurs, orcs, ghosts and ghouls before trying to achieve the coveted title of Dragon Slayer by hitting the tennis ball size target on the enormous and terrifying dragon.
🎲 Games, games, games……and wine! For Christmas we logged off early, headed out to the Christmas Market for a mulled wine and a delicious delight before heading back to to play a variety of hilarious and bonkers party games.
A moment of reflection
Over the last 5 years we have worked with the wonderful and vivacious Freyja Hanstein on her passion project, Wholesome World. It was created initially to provide healthy and nutritional recipes to those suffering, or had suffered, with cancer. This was a subject very personal to Freyja, who had not only had her own battles with cancer but had lost her husband to the disease. Sadly, in November this year Freyja lost her battle to cancer. We feel honoured to have worked with Freyja and sincerely hope her work with Wholesome World will live on and continue to help others. We send our deepest condolences to all of her loved ones.
Looking forward
